This was our first Tour as a family, and the first really long run the wife had done since passing her test 3 years ago, and a first for the boys. We have done the usual stuff over here for days out but nothing this big. We had a day run over the water in May for her to see what it was like riding on the wrong side of the road, and she came through that unscathed so we were ready for the off.
We kept a diary while we were over there, so a lot of the writing up has come from that. I've replaced any naughty words so not to offend anyone reading it, but I'm sure you'll get the gist of it.
The bikes we used were my Honda Superblackbird and the wife's 600s Bandit, and as it turned out they were ideal and averaged 45 mpg over the whole trip.
Now, we can look back and laugh at the downfalls, even though they may not have been funny to us at the time. We hope you enjoy what you read, and through this get an idea of the fun we had.
Feel free to add your comments to the Guestbook, keep it clean though won't you!!
